About the Service
A dyslexia assessment provides a clear, evidence-based understanding of how you process information, including strengths, areas of difficulty, and whether a formal diagnosis of dyslexia is appropriate.
Who is this for?
Adults or children (aged 8 years+) who suspect they may have dyslexia
University students applying for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA)
Young people who require a formal diagnosis for school or college support
Anyone who has experienced ongoing difficulties with reading, writing or learning and would like clarity
About the Assessment
Many adults reach their 20s, 30s or beyond without having had a formal assessment. If you have experienced long-standing difficulties but have not had a clear explanation, an assessment can help to clarify this.
For young people, an assessment can support access to appropriate adjustments and inform ongoing support.
Early identification in children is particularly valuable, as it allows support to be put in place at a crucial stage in their learning and development, helping to build confidence and prevent difficulties from becoming more entrenched.
All assessments are carried out by Karyn Cecchini, a SASC-accredited specialist, in line with professional standards.
